GoPro’s stock price fell nearly 10 percent Monday after a sports commentator said F1 Champion Michael Shumacher was wearing one of the company’s helmet cameras when his ski helmet cracked open on impact during a fall that left him with severe head injury.

Shumacher’s suffered severe head trauma in December, 2013 when his helmet hit a rock during a fall while skiing at a French resort in Chamonix, France. The impact caused the helmet to break in half. Schumacher emerged from an induced coma in June, 2014 and is still recovering.

While it was known that accident investigators were looking at whether the helmet camera had somehow weakened the helmet, F1 commentator Emmanuel Foudrot became the first person to identify it the camera as a GoPro during an interview with the Europe 1 radio station.

Accident investigators have been testing ski helmets equipped with helmet cams after finding the material used to make the helmet was not defective.
