Paragon Sports of New York City, Wrigleyville Sports in Chicago and Sports Authority of Denver are among 16 new retailers that have joined Google Express, which expanded Monday into Chicago, Boston and Washington D.C.

Paragon Sports and Wrigleyville Sports are among seven regional retailers who now offer same or next-day delivery through Google Express. Sports Authority joined as a national retailer.

Google Express introduced membership pricing for the service Oct. 14 that puts it in direct competition with Amazon Prime. In exchange for $95 per year or $10 per month, Google Express members in the Bay Area, Manhattan, West Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Washington DC are guaranteed same-day delivery, while shoppers in Northern California get next-day
delivery on
eligible orders of more than $15.

With the addition of three new cities, Google Express added anotehr 7 million potential customers. It is already available to nearly 12 million people in Northern California.

Other national retailers to join the network in recent months include 1-800-Flowers, Barnes & Noble, Nine West, PetSmart and Vitamin Shoppe. Stop & Shop in Boston; Giant Food in D.C.; and Lux Roses, TigerDirect and Treasure Island Foods in Chicago are among the new regional retailers.

REI, Palo Alto Sport Shop & Toy World and Timbuk2 are among the 38 other brands available to Google Express members.
