Golfsmith International Holdings, Inc. announced plans to open its 73rd store in Palm Desert, California. The new large-footprint store will be in excess of 36,000-square-feet will include its experiential format, complete with indoor driving range, state-of-the-art launch monitors, and a full-size indoor tennis court.


 


The new store, located at Monterey and I-10 in Palm Desert will also include a large putting green and a dedicated chipping and pitching area with an authentic sand bunker. Golf lessons are offered in the store by Golfsmith's exclusive lesson partner, GolfTEC, the nation's #1 golf instruction provider.


 


The Golfsmith Palm Desert store will feature a full-service tennis department with a wide assortment of equipment, footwear, apparel and accessories. Since fall 2004, Golfsmith has increased the number of golf and tennis stores it operates, with the Palm Desert store being the 59th. The tennis stores are complemented by Golfsmith's “Center Court” tennis catalog and Web site (tennis.golfsmith.com).
