G-Form, a leader in athletic impact protection, and the Finnish Soccer Players’ Union have inked an agreement for G-Form to provide all professional Finnish players with their innovative Pro-S Elite shin pads. As part of the deal, the Finnish Players’ Union will purchase and provide G-Form shin pads to their players as a benefit of membership.
“We as the Union are for the game and for the players. One of our main goals is to protect our players,” said Pekka Sihvola, President of the Finnish Players Union. “We always strive to be forerunners and innovators and G-Form shin pads are an excellent way to do that. We have over 1,300 players in the Union and every one of them will get G-Form shin pads.”
The agreement is the first of its kind between G-Form and a professional players’ union. The decision is a strong statement regarding the Union’s investment in player safety. Independent testing has shown that G-Form shin pads absorb impact more effectively than any shin pad on the market. There is no better gift to professional players than prolonging their careers.
“The reaction of the players has been very positive,” said Sihvola. “We found that a lot of the players were wearing G-Form before we formalized our partnership, so it was a very easy decision to make.”
For G-Form, the agreement with the Finnish Union is a welcome confirmation that others are starting to recognize the exceptional benefits their products provide. The partnership begins in 2016 as part of a multi-year agreement.
