Former NFL player Chris Manderino launched his own nutrition company, Lyfe Fuel, which recently came out with its first meal replacement product.
The concept came about for Manderino after experiencing the NFL culture of putting on excess weight. Following his career as a pro baller, Manderino traveled to Italy where the different cultural approach to food changed his perspective regarding U.S. ways.
This led Manderino to take a job in the nutraceutical industry, where he began to study dietary and training theories. Manderino found that plant-based diets are critical to health.
Using this knowledge, Manderino co-founded Lyfe Fuel. Lyfe has so far launched with its daily essential shake, which is an all natural, plant-based meal replacement powder engineered to provide exactly the nutritional elements that are frequently missing from the standard American diet (SAD).
