Everlast Worldwide Inc. has signed an agreement with Spalding that will allow the boxing manufacturer to utilize Spalding's patented INFUSION Micro Pump technology in its speed bags and double-end bags for boxing and fitness training.
Spalding introduced INFUSION basketballs with built-in Micro Pumps in 2001. These built-in pumps will be available in Everlast speed bags and double end bags in the second quarter of 2007 at sporting goods stores and online retailers worldwide.
Bob Llewellyn, Director of Consumer Marketing of Spalding explains, “Spalding is excited about the inclusion of its INFUSION technology within Everlast's inflated products. We see this as a natural extension of our technology and a perfect fit for Everlast. The built-in Micro Pumps revolutionized the basketball category, and we anticipate a similar reaction within the sport of boxing.”
According to Everlast's Chairman, President and CEO, Seth Horowitz, “We are constantly looking for ways to improve upon the design and utility of our boxing equipment. We believe the addition of Spalding's INFUSION® Micro Pump® technology is a tremendous innovation for our speed bags and double-end striking bags, and we're thrilled to be working with the Spalding team to develop a product to reinforce our leadership position in the world of boxing and fitness training and enhance customer and consumer satisfaction.”
