Veltec's managing director Josh Greenberg personally sealed a box and sent it down the rollers this morning as Veltec Sports shipped its first official order from the company's
expanded Carson City, Nevada location.
The order-Sidi shoes destined for North Shore Cycle in Lynn, MA- marks
the resumption of service to Veltec retailers after a two-day hiatus as
the company moved from its longtime Monterey, CA digs to new and
expanded headquarters in Carson City. The company had been located in
Monterey for the previous 23 years.
“We're very excited about this opportunity to improve service to our
retailers,” said Greenberg. “We still have next-day ground shipment to
most areas in California, and we gain a day shipping to the East Coast,
so many of our customers will get Sidi, LOOK, and Shebeest orders a full
day sooner.”
The new 30,000 square-foot facility features state-of-the-art inventory control, bar coded product racking and integrated shipping systems. For employees, the new location offers a fully stocked repair shop, men's
and women's showers, and miles of winding singletrack and paved mountain roads within a few feet of the front door.
“About half” the company's 30 employees made the move, Greenberg said.
Veltec has also added local talent to bring the company up to full
strength, including distribution management, supply chain management,
IT, and accounting.
