Nike Golf has announced the appointment of Steve Eklund to Chief Financial Officer of the company. Eklund, a seven-year Nike veteran, previously served as CFO and Chief Operations Officer for Nike ACG before joining Nike Golf in 2002 as Director of Strategic Planning. Eklund is the company’s first CFO since Nike Golf was broken out as a separate business unit within Nike in June 2002.

Since receiving his MBA from the University of Minnesota, Eklund has
directed the operations and financial management of a number of top
companies throughout the country and major divisions within Fortune 500
companies such as Nike and General Mills.

Eklund will oversee the finance, accounting, credit and strategic planning
functions for Nike Golf on a world-wide basis.

“I cannot think of a better place to share my 30-plus years of experience,”
said Eklund. “It’s rare that you have the opportunity to help guide the
early growth of a company that is destined for greatness. And when you do,
you give it everything you’ve got.”

In the early ‘80s, Eklund served as Manager of Operations Analysis and
Director of Accounting for General Mills’ Eddie Bauer division before moving
onto the multi-task role of CFO and VP, Operations, Finance, Administration
for the Kistler-Morse Corporation, developers of high tech industrial
control systems.

“Steve is a great leader and a fine addition to our senior management team,”
said Nike Golf president Bob Wood. “His experience will serve us well as we
continue to grow and meet the challenges of being a major player in the golf
industry.”

As CFO from 1993 to 1996, Eklund helped guide the financial and operational
turn-around of the Hanna Anderson Corporation in Portland, manufacturers of
quality cotton apparel for adults and children. He came to Nike in 1996 as
the Director of Finance for Nike Global Apparel.
