Saucony, Inc appointed Fred Doyle to vice president of field sales for both Saucony and Hind. Effective December 1st, Doyle will report directly to Richie Woodworth, president of the Saucony and Hind brands. The move marks the brands' continued commitment to dynamic growth and leadership in the specialty running channel.

“Fred has a terrific background in our sport and an impeccable reputation in the running community,” said Woodworth. “As we gear up for our 2007 campaign, the addition of Fred to our newly organized management team will accelerate the positive momentum that both Saucony and Hind are experiencing in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” he added.

Doyle steps into his new role after a 25-year career spent at Nike, managing various pieces of the brand's running business that included both footwear and apparel. For the past seven years, Doyle has been director of commerce for Nike's running business and prior to that, category sales manager for running. Doyle worked his way up through the Nike corporation, having started his career as a technical representative for the brand. His long history of achievement in the running world also includes participating in the 1980 Olympic Marathon Trials and coaching runners at various levels.

In his new role, Doyle will be responsible for defining and implementing strategic sales plans to accelerate growth and increase market share for both Saucony and Hind. Doyle will oversee a national sales team and direct regional field sales support.

“Fred's addition to our team will allow us to continue to focus our efforts on building great relationships with our retail partners while delivering world-class products to these customers,” said Woodworth.

Doyle has a B.S. from the University of New Hampshire and earned his M.Ed. from Boston State College.
