Combat, which is owned by Performance Sports Group, signed National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) star Madison Shipman to an endorsement deal. The 2014 NPF Rookie of the Year will exclusively use Combat apparel and equipment on the field and will provide key player insights that will help in the design, development and marketing of Combat products.

“We are thrilled to be adding such a young and talented player like Madison to our Combat family for this season and years ahead,” said Don Cooper, Director of Sales and Marketing, Combat.  “Elite players like Madison choose Combat because of our commitment to the game and advancing performance on the field.  She's coming off an incredible rookie season in the NPF, and we look forward to a lasting partnership.”

Shipman will assist the Combat Research and Development team with the creation of next-generation bats, apparel and gear bags.

“It is a great privilege to be teaming up with Combat,” Shipman said.  “I look forward to working with the dedicated team at Combat to help develop a new fastpitch line of product, bringing my own personality, inspiration and experiences to the table.”

Originally from Houston, Shipman plays shortstop for the USSSA Pride team in the NPF.  She played Division I collegiate fastpitch softball for the Lady Volunteers at the University of Tennessee. A 2014 graduate, she finished her college career with a .348 batting average, 44 home runs, a .611 slugging percentage and 207 RBIs.

She was regularly recognized as one of the top players in NCAA softball throughout her career and was a 2014 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-America selection, the 2014 Southeast Conference Player of the Year and a 2013 NFCA First Team All-America selection.
