Clarus Corporation, parent of Black Diamond, RockyMounts, MaxTrax, and Rhino-Rack, has completed its previously announced sale of Pieps and assets of the JetForce avalanche pack intellectual property to a private investment firm for a total purchase price of €7.8 million (~$9.1 million), including cash and debt.
“The divestiture of Pieps reflects our continued focus on simplifying the business and rationalizing our product categories,” explained Clarus’ Executive Chairman Warren Kanders. “Following a comprehensive strategic review process, this transaction further strengthens our balance sheet and supports our ability to capitalize on clear long-term growth opportunities.”
The move follows a strategic review process launched in the fall of 2024 and an increasing number of U.S. CPSC recalls of Pieps products.
