Tariffs Give Pause To Holiday Shoppers, Study Shows

According to Coresight’s Holiday 2019: U.S. Shopper Survey, almost six in 10 holiday shoppers are concerned about tariffs causing prices to rise on holiday gifts. Only 16 percent would absorb those rises and increase their spending.

China Files WTO Complaint Against U.S.

On Monday, Beijing filed a complaint against Washington at the World Trade Organization over U.S. import duties. China claimed the latest round of tariffs violated a consensus reached by leaders of both countries in Osaka, Japan.

Surf Expo Cancelled Due To Hurricane Dorian

Due to the continued threat of Hurricane Dorian on Orlando, the state of Florida, the southeast and the east coast, Surf Expo announced that it will cancel the 2019 event, as well as the pre-show outdoor festival, Waterfest, on September 4, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

Puma Signs R.J. Barrett

Puma signed former Duke Basketball star and current New York Knick, R.J. Barrett, to an endorsement deal. Barrett was the third pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and is being touted as a possible breakout star.

PVH Lowers Outlook

PVH Corp. reported second-quarter revenue increased 1 percent (increased 3 percent on a constant currency basis) compared to the prior-year period and exceeded guidance. The company lowered its full year 2019 EPS outlook to reflect a more conservative view in part due to trade war tensions.
