Taryn Rose International, the women's fashion footwear line, named Robert Meers as its new CEO. Meers resigned as CEO of Lululemon Athletica on June 30.

Taryn Rose noted that Meers, who joined Lululemon in 2005, was instrumental in establishing the strategic platform for the Lululemon brand and its growth throughout North America and internationally. He assembled the senior management team and, under his leadership, led the company through its IPO in July 2007. Prior to Lululemon, Meers worked for Reebok International for 15 years and was formerly the president and CEO of Reebok Brand.

Founded in 1998 by orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Taryn Rose, Taryn Rose International is a line of luxury shoes that are both fashionable and functional. Each shoe is built on an asymmetrical form, allowing for full arch support, decreasing fatigue and gives stability to your ankles.

Meers said, “I have admired the vision that Dr. Taryn Rose brought to this company and believe that it is a gem that is yet to reach its full potential. Aside from positioning the brand strongly in the United States, I look forward to rapid growth internationally.”

Meers and his wife Miriam Kelly have also made an investment in the company and will manage as a team. Miriam has a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. She will work closely with the current managers of many of the departments and use her specific expertise to the human resources, training and recruiting areas.

She adds, “I intend to bring the women's touch to the product direction, merchandising and marketing and help grow the loyal following that has made Taryn Rose footwear so successful these past 10 years.”
