The Board Retailers Association has added three new members to its board of directors.
Under the continued leadership of co-chairs Duke Edukas of Surfside Sports and D. Nachnani of Coastal Edge, the association board has added Bruce Cromartie of BC Surf & Sport, Coco Tihanyi of Surf Diva, Tony Butler of Sweetwater Surf Shop and Todd Canipe of Vertical Urge.
Nachnani insists that given the economic downfall of the past year, “it is now more important than ever to have a team of strong retailers at the helm of the association.”
Bruce Cromartie is a multi-chain store owner with shops in Florida, Colorado, Nebraska and Utah.
Coco Tihanyi is another key addition to the board of directors, as she and her sister have become major players in the surf industry by helping pave the way for women surfers. They have become successful retailers and turned their brand into a successful manufacturing company.
Tony Butler, who has been in the industry for twenty years, operates a single location, which is representative of the majority of BRA retail members.
Already an active member of the skate industry, Todd Canipe will be working closely with BRA Skate Chair George Leichtweis of Modern Skate & Surf to help guide the skate initiatives of the association.
