Black Diamond Equipment issued a voluntary recall for its Recon LT avalanche transceiver to update the required firmware.
The Recon LT avalanche transceiver could unexpectedly enter search mode, despite the rotary switch remaining in its send position. The malfunction is resolvable if users update the firmware to version v1.3 or later.
Consumers who own the Black Diamond Recon LT avalanche transceiver should immediately stop using the device and download the Pieps App for iOS or Android, connecting their transceivers via Bluetooth and following the on-screen prompts.
Alternatively, users can send their device to Black Diamond’s service center to perform the update free of charge, including postage. Or, Black Diamond will offer a full refund to Recon LT avalanche transceiver customers.
