Asics America Corp. opened a new store format at the Mall of America in Minnesota.
According to a statement from Asics America, “The space balances the highly technical aspects of the brand’s products – a sound body – with natural, warm finishes, features and materials – a sound mind – resulting in an environment that immerses customers in a world where both the mind and body are stimulated.”
The store, which measures 2,095 square feet, features lush natural materials combined with a bespoke hanging plant installation to soften and freshen the retail environment. Additionally, the new retail concept aims to include sustainability considerations such as sustainable hangers made from 50 percent recycled plastics and 50 percent grass, LED lighting and flooring and wood fixtures made from natural wood. In contrast to calming botanical touches and sustainable materials the technological features of the space, including Asics Motion ID area that uses sensors to capture consumers’ natural posture and style of movement when running, exude innovation and values that are inherent to Asics DNA.
“Asics’ unique approach to the shopping experience encompasses elements of our founding principles; a sound mind in a sound body, and gives Mall of America’s busy consumers a distinctive place to experience something new,” says Biagio Mancini, senior director Asics Retail. “We are truly excited to see how consumers respond when we bring the essence of our brand and our heritage to the landscape of the Mall of America.”
