Arc’Teryx Taps Bergstrom for Design Team

Once again stacking its team with forward-thinking talent and creativity, Arc'teryx Equipment Inc., designers
and manufacturers of technical outerwear, backpacks, and climbing harnesses proudly announces the addition of Susanna Bergstrom to its snowsports design team.

Bergstrom, better known as 'Sanna', is a recent graduate of the University
of Derby in the UK, where she earned her masters degree in performance
sportswear design. For several years before her studies, Sanna owned and ran
a small specialty outdoor retail store with a licensed Gore-Tex Service
Center in Malmo, Sweden. Through the Service Center she also worked on
design development for the outdoor company, Tierra.

No stranger to the mountains, Sanna has been snowboarding for 12 years, and
like any Swede, has been skiing since before she could walk.

At Arc'teryx, Sanna will collaborate with chief snowsports designer, Tom
Routh, on all upcoming snowsports apparel and pack projects.

“Sanna is a vertical hands-on designer, and will be a huge asset to the
program due to her own snowsports experience and her retail background,”
said Tom Routh of Arc'teryx. “Her female and European perspectives will be
a welcome addition to the program,” Routh added.

Sanna will work closely with Routh in the FYI Design studio in Birken,
Canada, a location that lends itself to developing product in the
environment for which it is intended to be used, located just minutes away
from the mountains.

“The concept behind the off-site studio is to be able to produce a working
prototype and be in the high alpine 30 minutes from stepping out the door,”
said Routh.
