Seth Berger, CEO of basketball footwear and apparel company AND 1, announced the company’s first footwear license acquisition, Triple Five Soul. AND 1 will be handling the design, sales and marketing of the footwear for the Brooklyn-based lifestyle apparel brand which will be hitting retailers this Spring.

Triple Five has made a mark in the NYC subculture and street scene since its inception in 1989 and the brand’s success in the apparel and accessories industry has paved the way for expanding into the footwear category.

In the coming weeks, the new footwear line will debut at retailers across the U.S. and in countries including Canada, Sweden, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Greece, and France, with an extended international rollout planned for Spring of 2006.

The alternative, NYC streetwear-inspired footwear line is being managed by newly appointed general manager for T5S, Randy McKinley. McKinley will oversee the sales and marketing of T5S footwear from AND 1’s headquarters in Paoli, where he previously served as director of international and retail marketing for AND 1. Before joining AND 1 in February of 2000, McKinley was the director of visual merchandising and store planning for Champs Sports for 10 years.
