Amer Sports Corporation has opened its doors in Ogden, Utah, the new headquarters for its recently created Winter & Outdoor U.S. unit. Amer Sports Winter and Outdoor includes the brands Salomon, Atomic and Suunto.  ASWO is led by President/General Manager Mike Dowse, a 16-year Amer Sports veteran. The unit was launched a year ago to provide a shared platform for the brands, enabling them to increase customer service capacity with retailers and consumers and to help the brands build market position and sales.

“We considered several Western cities, but now that we’ve moved to Ogden, we are even more convinced we selected the ideal home.  Being in Ogden lets us strengthen our platform and brands, and provide the very best customer service,” explains Mike Dowse, President and General Manager of Amer Sports Winter & Outdoor U.S. “Here in the Rocky Mountains we are completely in tune with developing outdoor trends because we are so close to the consumers of our brand and products.  As a leader in winter sports, we are at home on the mountain.”

Ogden is located on the west side of the Wasatch Mountains, 40 miles north of Salt Lake City International Airport. The city boasts a vibrant historical district and quick access to two of America’s top-rated ski resorts.

“We’re thrilled that Amer Sports is now a key part of Ogden’s outdoor business community,”says Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey. “As the world leader in sport equipment, Amer’s presence in Ogden is already helping define our city as the hub for high adventure recreation.”

Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. commented, “We’re excited to have the Atomic, Salomon and Suunto brands here in Utah. This further illustrates Utah's increasing prominence in the wintersports and outdoor recreation industry.”
