Adidas Outdoor announced it is adding two top-ranked U.S. female climbers to its team of sponsored athletes, World Champion Sasha DiGiulian, 18, and Junior Champion climber Natalie Josefsberg, 14. Most recently, DiGiulian claimed the Gold Medal in womens combined at the International Federation of Sport Climbing World Championships in Arco, Italy. DiGiulian will be appearing at the adidas Outdoor booth at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, Booth 1009, from Thursday, August 4, though Saturday, August 6, from 9AM to 5PM daily.

“Sasha and Natalie are the perfect ambassadors for this sport,” said Greg Thomsen, adidas Outdoor’s managing director for North America. “They are passionate and committed and reflect the youthful spirit of our brand. We look forward to supporting them as they progress and evolve in the sport.”

DiGiulian has been climbing for the past 11 years. At the present time she is: first in the world ranking for Female Outdoor Sport Climbing (in the adult division), the Pan-American Champion; the U.S. National Champion, female division and undefeated Junior Continental Champion, female category.

Josefsberg was undefeated in California for four years and made the US National team six times since she started climbing competitively. When Natalie won the SCS Nationals in 2009, she was the only competitor out of approximately 350 youths to make Nationals in all age groups that had a perfect score.

DiGiulian and Josefsberg join a global roster of internationally acclaimed athletes sponsored by adidas Outdoor, including Reinhold Messner, known for making the first solo ascent of Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen and climbers Alexander and Thomas Huber, respected for their accomplishing in extreme alpine climbing.

Show attendees can also meet Thomas Huber at the adidas Outdoor booth on Thursday, August 4, and see DiGiulian take to the walls during Outdoor Retailers Industry Party, August 4, at the adidas Outdoor sponsor tent.
