Academy Sports + Outdoors opened its first location in Paducah, KY, its ninth store opening this year. Located at 150 McBride Lane, the store is over 62,000 square feet and brings over 100 new jobs to the community.
“We’re thrilled to open our first store in Paducah as we continue to grow in the state of Kentucky,” said Sam Johnson, Academy Sports + Outdoors’ executive vice president of retail operations. “From running or biking on the Greenway Trail to preparing to watch the Paducah Chiefs, we look forward to making it easier for the local community to find everything they need to enjoy sports and outdoors, at everyday low prices.”
The company also just opened a store in College Station, TX, which was previously relocated from the Post Oak Mall area. The store is over 71,000 square feet and is located at 2511 Earl Rudder Freeway.
The retailer also so far this year opened stores in Starkville, MS; Manhattan, KS; Florence, AL; Weatherford, TX; Huntsville, AL; Greensboro, NC; and Columbia, MO.
