JD Sports Fashion Plc has announced that Mahbobeh Sabetnia, a non-executive director and member of the Remuneration Committee having served on the Board of Directors for nearly two and a half years, has decided not to stand for re-election at the company’s Annual General Meeting on June 27, and will therefore step down from the Board at the conclusion of the meeting.
Mahbobeh has served as a member of the Remuneration Committee since November 29, 2021.
“Mahbobeh has made a valuable contribution to the Board and in her role as a member of the Remuneration Committee,” offered Board Chair Andy Higginson. “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank her for her time and wish her every success for the future.”
The Board is commencing a process to identify and appoint an additional independent non-executive director shortly and will provide an update in due course.
JD said the notification is made in accordance with LR 9.6.11.
JD Sports Fashion Plc is the parent company of the JD, DTLR, Shoe Palace retail businesses in the U.S. and recently agreed to acquire Hibbett Sports.
