Overland Equipment, the manufacturer of outdoor bags, is donating $2,500 to a new exhibit and education facility at Bidwell Park’s Chico Creek Nature Center in the company’s hometown of Chico, California.

Overland Equipment raised half the donation through a special event at the recent Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City Utah where show participants were invited to purchase Fall 2009 Overland bags with proceeds going to Chico Creek Nature Center. The company matched the funds raised at the event, dollar for dollar.

“Overland Equipment has been deeply rooted in the Chico community for close to thirty years,” says Julie Skirving of Overland Equipment. “We are thrilled to make this donation to Bidwell Park so that future generations can discover a love of nature and adventure in this beautiful park that continues to inspire us everyday.”

Bidwell Park is one of the most diverse and pristine parks in America. The 3,618-acre municipal park encompasses both sides of Big Chico Creek Canyon for a full five miles up into the foothills, making it a truly spectacular retreat.

The new exhibit and education facility at the Chico Creek Nature Center will showcase Bidwell Park's natural systems and cultural history. The new facility will also house an environmental education classroom, adding interactive value to the Nature Center's popular camps and school programs.
