Zumiez Inc. reported same-store sales decreased 3.3 percent in June. Net sales in the five weeks ended July 4 reached $67.0 million, a gain of 2.6 percent.

The decrease in comps was driven by a decrease in comparable transactions, partially offset by an increase in dollars per transaction. Dollars per transaction were up due to an increase in average unit retail and an increase in units per transaction. Men's, footwear, accessories and juniors posted negative comps, while hard goods saw a positive comp. Similar to recent months, Europe significantly outperformed overall results.

Zumiez’s quarter-to-date comps decreased 2.8 percent and its year-to-date comparable sales increased 0.6 percent.
