Zumiez saw sales for the month jump 39.7% to $47 million from $33.7
million last year. The company's comparable store sales jumped 17.4% on
top of a 4.7% gain for last year’s month. The gains for the month came
in part from the 53rd week in the year causing the week before Labor
Day to shift into August. This shift will in turn create tougher comps
for the retailer in fiscal September.

For August 2007, total sales growth was driven by an increase in
comparable store transactions and an increase in average unit retail.
In a return to normalcy, men's sales were the strongest positive contributor for the month.

The company ended the month with 272 stores open. On a recorded
conference call, management said they “remain on plan to open 50 stores
in 2007.”

The Buckle, Inc. saw comparable store sales for the month jump 16.7%,
while net sales increased 16.3% to $59.9 million from net sales of
$51.5 million last year. Total sales were up 22.9% compared to the same
4-week period ended September 2, 2006.
