WaterMark has hired Chris Bogue, a 20-year sales veteran, as a director of sales for its family of outdoor brands. In this position, Bogue’s primary responsibilities will be to provide strategic direction towards the sales vision, work closely with the WaterMark field sales organization in building more meaningful partnerships with its retail base, and driving business development in current and possible future distribution channels. Bogue will begin work Monday, March 7, 2005. His hiring follows the recent addition of Steve Rodden as vice president of product development.

Most recently, Bogue worked at Pearl Izumi where he managed sales for the western region and successfully drove its preseason volume to the highest in the company’s history.

“Chris will bring a fresh point of view that enhances our current management team,” said Amy Buckalter, WaterMark’s senior vice president of global sales and marketing. “His expertise will be critical to reaching our primary objectives — to increase sales, to provide quality service and to ensure first class execution.

Buckalter continued, “Chris has the proven ability to impact business development and maximize sales opportunities by cultivating relationships with our valued retail partners. This is an exciting time for the company as we look to evolve our talent, integrated strategies, and multiple brands to deliver industry leading innovation in our products and services.”

Prior to Pearl Izumi, Bogue worked for Casio Inc. as director of its Sport Division, K2 Corporation as both the Inline Skate Division director of national sales and global director of brand, and Bravo Corporation as the director of national sales. In addition, Bogue worked for six years as an independent sales agent within the ski and sport optics industries and in retail business for one of the outdoor and snowsports industry’s most successful specialty multi-door organizations.
