Von Maur Department Stores Opens First Location in North Dakota

Von Maur Department Stores opened its newest location at West Acres Mall in Fargo, ND, on April 5. The 90,000-square-foot store is the company’s first in the state and its 39th overall.

Von Maur stores carry brand-name and specialty apparel, shoes, accessories, and gifts. The store offers products from L.L.Bean, Bobbi Brown, Rhone, UNRL, Peter Millar, TravisMathew, Hammitt, Varley, Marc Jacobs, Free People, Madewell and Liverpool Los Angeles, among many others.

Recognized for its customer service, Von Maur features an interest-free charge card, a rewards program and complimentary services, including gift wrapping and shipping.

The store, in the heart of Fargo, is also an anchor tenant at West Acres Mall, adding to the mix of retailers already on display at the city’s long-established retail and entertainment hub. This is the company’s second investment at West Acres Mall. In 2018, Von Maur opened its Dry Goods store, a contemporary women’s apparel and accessories retailer.

The store opening continues the family-owned company’s national growth strategy. This past fall, Von Maur opened its first store in Pennsylvania at the South Hills Village in Pittsburgh. The company is also undergoing a multi-phased, $100 million renovation of its existing stores over the next several years.

Once fully staffed, Von Maur’s West Acres Mall store will employ about 100 full-time and part-time associates.

Von Maur Department Stores, founded in 1872 in downtown Davenport, IA, operates a 120,000-square-foot c-commerce facility that drives its online business in addition to its retail stores.
