Volt Athletics opened its intelligent fitness training app to the public, whereas it used to be exclusive to elite teams at top schools. The app, built with everyday athletes in mind signals Volt’s first big push into the crowded Health and Fitness Landscape.

The app uses patent-pending technology to deliver highly prescriptive workouts designed to improve athletic performance. While most fitness apps focus on weight loss and activity tracking, Volt builds comprehensive year-long training plans based on each athlete’s needs, for the purpose of reaching performance goals.

“Volt’s mission is to provide all athletes with affordable access to elite-level strength and conditioning,” said Dan Giuliani, co-founder and CEO, Volt Athletics. “The best athletes train on a strategic plan; they don’t do random workouts. Volt’s intelligent training engine tells you exactly what to do in the weight room, how to do it, and when to do it. It’s not random—it’s the right workout for you, every time.”

Volt’s training algorithms adapt and grow with each athlete, prescribing unique, sport-specific workouts as part of a long-term approach to physical development.

To ensure the training is based on the latest science and research, Giuliani, an Adjunct Professor of Sport Performance at the University of Washington and a certified strength coach, created the Volt Athletics Advisory Board, comprised of industry experts who oversee Volt’s training methodologies. The Board is chaired by the Boyd Epley, who according to ESPN, is “arguably the single most important individual in the history of strength and conditioning.”

“The technology behind Volt enables more athletes to train at a higher level,” attested Epley.

Volt has a strategic relationship with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning. In 2015, Volt closed its second round of funding, helping position the company as the global leader in technology solutions for sport performance training. Thousands of high school and college coaches, private trainers, and facilities around the world already use Volt’s team-based product that was released in 2013.
