Michael Vick will plead guilty to federal dogfighting charges today before U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson at the federal courthouse in Richmond, VA. In his agreement, which was filed Friday, Vick admitted to funding a dogfighting
operation known as “Bad Newz Kennels,” supplying money for gambling on
dogfights and participating in the executions of “six to eight” dogs
not considered dogfighting material.

Vick has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons are seeking to recoup $22 million of a
signing bonus that has already been paid to the quarterback, according
to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Nike has terminated its contract with Michael Vick following the release of details of his plea. As Nike said in previous statements, the company considers any cruelty to animals inhumane, abhorrent and unacceptable.
