Active Brands Appoints New CEO

Active Brands, the Norway-based parent of Kari Traa, Johaug, Dæhlie Sportswear, Bula, Åsnes and Sweet Protection, appointed Christophe Merkel as the new CEO of the company, succeeding Espen Krogstad. He was formerly vice president and general manager of Nike EMEA.

Pure Fishing To Purchase Plano Synergy Holdings

Pure Fishing Inc. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Plano Synergy Holdings Inc. The purchase will include Plano Synergy’s 15 brands, which specialize in tackle storage, catch management, hunting accessories and archery.

Rocky Brands Inc. announced that it completed its previously announced acquisition of the performance and lifestyle footwear business of Honeywell International, Inc., including The Original Muck Boot Company and XTRATUF footwear brands for $230 million.

Dorel Sports’ Q4 Revenues Climb 14 Percent

Dorel Industries Inc. reported sales at its Dorel Sports cycling segment rose 13.8 percent in the fourth quarter. Demand for bikes remains strong with the gains held back by supply chain constraints that are limiting component availability. 

Vail Resorts Sees Improving Visitation Rates

Vail Resorts Inc. reported total visitation across its North American destination mountain resorts and regional ski areas were down 5 percent in the second quarter. Season-to-date total skier visits through March 7 were down 8.2 percent.

Royal Robbins Opens Retail Store On Newbury Street In Boston

On March 7, Royal Robbins opened its first retail store in downtown Boston located at 304 Newbury Street. The 1,000 square-foot store is located in Boston’s Back Bay and down the street from its sister brand, Fjällräven.
