Unifi, Inc. named Ronald L. Smith as CFO. Mr. Smith is replacing William M. Lowe, Jr., who has left the company. Mr. Smith, who last week was named the company's VP of finance and treasurer, joined Unifi in November 1994 and has held positions as controller, chief accounting officer and director of business development and corporate strategy. He most recently held the position of treasurer and had additional responsibility for Investor Relations. Prior to joining Unifi, Mr. Smith was with the accounting firm of Ernst and Young. Mr. Smith is a CPA and received his bachelor's degree in business administration, with a major in accounting, from Wake Forest University.
