Under Armour has appointed Oberalp as its exclusive distribution partner in Switzerland. Oberlap has been Under Armour’s distributor in Italy since 2017.
Since becoming its Italian distributor, Under Armour’s sales in Italy have expanded from €8 million to €50 million ($54 mm). Over the last years, the South Tyrolean group has been growing Under Armour’s business in the wholesale channel, where the brand is now present in over 1,200 doors, and in the retail channel, managing 17 mono-brand stores, of which eight are brand houses, and nine are factory houses.
Oberalp, founded in 1981 in Italy, is a division of the Oberrauch Group from Bolzano. The company specializes in activewear, sports gear, and its brands, including Salewa, Silvretta, Dynafit, Merlet, Pomoca, and Wild Country.
Oberlap also has distribution arrangements with Fischer, Smith, Barts, Falke, Burlington, 2117 of Sweden, and One/Way.
“As Oberalp, we are internationally recognized for applying our experience as a house of sports brands to other players in the segment. We have built a reputation as a long-term partner, offering our know-how in communication, sales, marketing, and brand building for our eight international sports brands for which we manage exclusive distribution,” said Michele Rossi, general manager of Distributed Brands at Oberalp.
