Under Armour Performance Apparel announced the addition of Tony Ambroza to its marketing team as the company’s new retail marketing director. Ambroza has over ten years experience in the sports and entertainment industries, and will report directly to Steve Battista, Under Armour’s vice president of marketing. He will focus on business development with retailers, strategic direction for the brand at the retail level and corporate communications. Ambroza will also concentrate on grassroots events and building player relationships.

Prior to joining Under Armour®, Ambroza served as the US brand management strategic planning manager at Nike, Inc., where he evaluated and provided approaches to optimize Nike, Inc.’s multi-million dollar marketing investments, as well as developed strategic planning, competitive analysis and consumer trend research. In 2002, Ambroza also served as Nike, Inc.’s US equipment category marketing manager where he was responsible for drafting and implementing integrated marketing plans, as well as managing day-to-day marketing relationships with Sunglass Hut International and Watch Station/Watch World. Preceding Nike, Inc., Ambroza worked at Planet Hollywood International as the director of marketing where he spearheaded development of national promotions and partnership marketing plans.
