True Temper Sports, Inc. opened its newest golf shaft manufacturing
operation located just outside of Shanghai in Suzhou, China. The metals
forming facility, which has been under construction for the past two
years, will provide the needed capacity and expansion for the Company
following its acquisition of the Royal Precision brands in 2006.
On hand for the ribbon cutting were over 100 employees and invited
guests, including the Company's Board of Directors and local Chinese
politicians and dignitaries.
Scott Hennessy, President and CEO, stated, “This marks a true milestone
in our company's history. This start-up facility will provide us with
the opportunity to more fully service and support the growing golf
industry throughout the world, particularly in Asia.”
He went on to say that production at the site will begin in the next few months and will become fully operational in 2008.
True Temper Sports markets under the True Temper, Grafalloy, Rifle,
Project X and Alpha-Q brands, and sells these products in over 30
countries throughout the world. It has 1,000 employees in ten
facilities located in the United States, Europe, Japan and China.
