Toms Shoes, the Santa Monica based footwear company promoted their 4th
annual “One Day Without Shoes” campaign on Tuesday, April 4. The company
teamed-up with Nordstrom to host barefoot walks.
Blake Mycoskie, the founder of Toms Shoes, expected millions to
participate.
Although the shoemaker is for-profit, they donate a pair of shoes to
someone in need for every pair sold.
“In many developing countries,
children must walk barefoot for miles for school, clean water &
medical help,” the company tweeted.
Among the celebrities supporting the cause were Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Olivia Wilde, Kristen Bell, Heather Graham,
Brittany Snow, and Demi Moore.
