Timbervest LLC is making it easier for hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts to license prime timberland with the launch of its new interactive land licensing website, www.timbervesthunting.com.

The Atlanta-based timberland investment and management company offers recreation license opportunities for hundreds of thousands of acres of real estate in 14 states across the U.S. Southeast and Gulf regions. The new website includes an interactive map of available properties, called recreational license units (RLUs). Users can click on an RLU and instantly see acreage and license price, as well as maps showing general location, aerial photography and topography.

“We like to keep our clients’ timberland licensed for hunting and recreation where appropriate, so we wanted to make sure people who are interested can easily find nearby RLUs,” said Scott Reaves, CF, director of forest operations and information systems at Timbervest. “The new website allows those in the market for a license to readily see each unit’s location, characteristics and availability.”

The recreational license program is overseen by Cindy Higgins, manager of land operations at Timbervest, who works with F&W Forestry Services, Inc. to administer the site. According to Higgins, licenses are offered to hunt clubs and individuals on an annual basis and permit general recreational uses, including camping and hiking. ATV use for hunting-related activities is permitted on many tracts. All licensees have direct contact with Timbervest's local forestry consultants who manage day-to-day operations on the licensed properties.

“We have licenses ranging from 10 acres to more than 1,000 acres, so there is something for everyone,” said Reaves. “We encourage hunters and anyone who enjoys the outdoors to visit the website and learn how easy it can be to license a beautiful piece of land for hunting and outdoor recreation.”

Founded in 1995, Atlanta-based Timbervest currently manages more than 600,000 acres of timberland, timber-related assets and other real estate investments with a market value of more than $1 billion. The company’s timberland portfolio assets are located in most major timber regions of the United States, including the Northeast, Southeast, Appalachian, West Gulf and Pacific Northwest.
