The Timberland Company has named Carden N. Welsh as senior vice president and chief administrative officer. Mr. Welsh served as Timberland's senior vice president – international from 1998 until 2003 and as treasurer from 1991 until 1998. In his new role, Mr. Welsh will oversee Timberland's corporate administration.

The company has also named John Crimmins as CFO. Mr. Crimmins has served as acting CFO since March 29, 2007. Prior to that, he served the company as vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer since joining the company in 2002. Mr. Crimmins will be responsible for the full range of finance activities.

“We conducted an extensive search of internal and external candidates for both positions, and were pleased to find that the most qualified candidates were already part of the Timberland family,” said Jeffrey Swartz, Timberland's president and CEO.

He continued, “I am delighted to welcome Carden back to Timberland. Carden's passion for the Timberland mission and his unique set of skills, which combine operational excellence with a conservationist's eye for efficiency, will serve the Company very well.”

“I am also extremely pleased that John has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer. The CFO role is critical to the organization, providing the financial discipline and strategic business leadership that drive the overall success of the brand and enterprise. Over the last five months, as John has served as Acting CFO, he has proven to be a powerful leader with the expertise and determination to inspire and motivate those around him,” said Swartz.
