The Timberland Company was ranked 78th among the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by FORTUNE magazine. The company cited its commitment to employees and the communities in which they work and live as helping to gain this recognition every year since the list’s inception in 1998.

Companies are selected for the list based on the results of a random survey of employees, along with company-supplied information on culture, philosophy and benefits. The employee survey is designed to evaluate a company’s policies, practices and philosophies, and accounts for two-thirds of the scoring.
