K2 Sports named Ben Wallace to the newly formed position of National Sales Manager for Line Skis. Category Manager for K2 Skis since 2002, Wallace is a lifelong skier and a 1999 graduate of the University of Oregon in business administration. He will be responsible for managing the sales efforts of Line’s independent sales representatives across the United States.

“Ben has a passion for business and the ski industry,” said Tim Petrick, VP Global Sales for K2 Sports. “He distinguished himself at K2 over the past four years through his hard work, intelligence and enthusiasm. I am confident he is going to have a positive impact on growing Line’s business in the USA.”

Line’s founder, Jason Levinthal, was equally enthusiastic. “Getting a young, driven ripper like Ben to head up the Line sales group and focus on servicing our dealers is a great move. It is a clear signal that K2 Sports is making the investments necessary to help Line Skis achieve its full potential.”

K2 acquired Line Skis, an innovator in the twin tip ski market for freeride and freestyle skiing, in 2006.

“Having the opportunity to focus my energies and experience on increasing Line Ski sales in the US is an exciting prospect” said Wallace. “The Line brand has significant opportunity in the fast growing market for twin tip skis and is clearly one of the driving forces in today’s progressive freeskiing movement. I am proud to become a part of it.”
