Thule hired Eric Wallace as the new Western Envoy. Wallace comes to Thule with extensive experience in the cycling industry as the team manager of some of the most successful mountain biking teams. As the Western Envoy, Wallace will be providing technical support, attending and assisting in-store training sessions, retailer sales events, and outdoor related consumer events through out the western United States.

“To have someone with Eric's affinity for our markets, background in field marketing and passion for the multisport lifestyle as our Western Envoy will be a great asset to the western region,” said Larry Hewett, Thule Western Regional Sales Manager.

Wallace joins Thule after seven years of field marketing experience, where he most recently was the team manager of the Team Maxxis Mountain Bike Racing. Previously he had managed the Trek-Volkswagen Racing Team, the Volvo-Cannondale Cycling Team, and was the Director of the Timex Events Program. Wallace will be based from his home in Seattle, Washington, and will report to Hewett.

“Once word got out that I was leaving the team management world, my phone rang off the hook and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with Thule,” said Wallace. “I'm excited to work with a company that still manufacturers its products in the US and I am looking forward to getting on the road to further strengthen Thule's presence in the West.”

Wallace grew up in Texas racing BMX, and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Political Science. He went on to the University of Dallas for graduate work in political science theory. Along with cycling, Wallace is an avid Nordic skier and a vintage Vespa scooter enthusiast.

Since 2003 the Thule Envoys have traveled to all 48 contingent states, conducted over 500 retail clinics, trained over 1800 retail floor staff, and have met over 1.3 million consumers at consumer and outdoor events.
