On August 10, at the 25th annual Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, Teva made a contribution to the Waterkeeper Alliance deepening its environmental commitment. Executive Director Steve Fleischli was on hand at the tradeshow to accept a check in the amount of $50,000. A previous donation was also made in the amount of $5,000 earlier in the year at the Waterkeeper Alliance Annual National Conference in San Francisco, CA. Each of the 200 individuals in attendance also received a pair of Teva footwear.

“Teva exists because of the rivers and canyons we’ve explored, run in and enjoyed over the years. Our heritage obligates us to get involved with the protection of these waterways,” says Pete Worley, Teva Brand President. “We are proud to stand along with Waterkeeper Alliance in this effort against polluters, and give hope that change is possible.”

The mission of Waterkeeper Alliance is to connect and support local Waterkeeper programs and provide a voice for waterways and their communities worldwide.

“Waterkeeper Alliance and Teva make perfect partners to spread the word about how vital water is to life. Both Waterkeeper Alliance and Teva have their roots in water, and we are excited to share a common vision for the protection of the world’s waterways.” Says Steve Fleischli, Executive Director of Waterkeeper Alliance.

Teva and Waterkeeper Alliance will also be working together with leading IMAX® theater film producers, MacGillivray Freeman Films, on a film that is set to début worldwide, March 2008. Water Planet: Grand Canyon Adventure will help to further communicate the importance of watershed protection.
