Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo’s founder and Chief Creative Officer, and Joshua Shulman, the brand’s CEO, announced their joint resignation.

Shulman told WWD that his leaving the company is unrelated to Mellon’s decision, but that they announced their news together to insure a “smooth transition.”  Their leaving comes just six months after the Jimmy Choo brand was purchased by Labelux, (though it’s a few years after Mellon started trying to sell the luxury accessories company).  In July, Mellon told Footwear News, “None of the bidders would buy the company without me,”-a good enough reason to say on.  Though she also said, “We’re only a teenager. It takes about 30 years for a luxury brand to really hit maturity.”
