Surf Expo on Tuesday said it would keep its show in September in Orlando, FL, despite having to cancel last year’s event because of Hurricane Dorian.
In an interview with the trade publication Shop Eat Surf, which Surf Expo bought last year, Roy Turner, SVP of Surf Expo and parent company Emerald Holding Inc. (formerly Emerald Expositions Events Inc.), commented on the decision to keep the show’s late-summer calendar spot.
“We surveyed both our retail attendee and exhibitor base on alternatives for our September show from both a timing and location standpoint after what happened last year,” he said. “Overwhelmingly, both groups agreed that our traditional September date pattern and Orlando location were still their number one choice.”
Turner said “most of the major Surf, Bluewater and Wake brands already committed” to the September event and that “the show is pacing well ahead of 2019.”
The show is scheduled for September 10-12. Surf Expo held its winter show last month.
