Stephon Marbury, a former New York Knicks basketball player, was sued by a sports-marketing agency claiming he owes it $214,990 in commissions for helping create a line of footwear and apparel, Starbury.

According to a report on Bloomberg News, Agency Sports Management LLC, a sports and marketing company based in Dix Hills, New York, said in a March 24 complaint in state court in White Plains that it contracted with Marbury in January 2006 to create a line of footwear and sports apparel. Marbury, while collecting $4 million for his endorsement, hasnt paid all of the agreed-on 20% of revenue from Starbury sales, the Agency contends.

The deal with the Agency included development of items for Steve &
Barry’s retail stores, which filed for bankruptcy in 2008, the company
said.

Marbury is playing basketball for the Chinese Basketball Association’s Shanxi club, and is seeking to promote his line of athletic shoes in the country.
