Singtex Technical Fabrics announces today they will feature fabrics incorporating TrapTek technology in their upcoming Spring 2006 collections at the Summer 2005 Outdoor Retailer show. TrapTek technology permanently embeds activated carbon, derived from coconut shells, into fiber and yarns to provide cool natural comfort.

This technology disperses moisture across an enormous surface area created by the activated carbon particles (a Technical Tee shirt made of TrapTek activated carbon has the surface area of a football field), initiating an evaporative cooling effect. Athletes have noticed that products with TrapTek aide the body’s natural process of cooling through spreading and evaporating perspiration. Additionally, this technology trap odor and UV in the carbon pore structures, keeping the finished products fresh and lightweight with exceptional or superior UPF qualities.

Mike Costa, the North American Singtex representative comments; “I am very excited over this new partnership. With TrapTek™, we can raise the bar with our offerings across the board, including knits, wovens, and our 2 and 3 layer developments. Even more important, this all comes at a very affordable price, compared with other competing technologies.”
