Snowsports Industries America (SIA) President Nick Sargent released a letter to the trade outlining a new registration system for its trade show, in addition to announcing that the organization had parted ways with NPD for its retail data reporting.
“We are employing a totally new registration system with the goal of making the registration process more efficient and effective,” Sargent wrote. “You will now have the ability to print your badges at home or the office before you arrive at the show. You will also be able to download an app that allows you to scan visitor badges at your booth to capture their contact info. One heads up – along with the cool new bells and whistles, the new system will require that you enter all of your personal information (no matter how many times you have been to the show). We think this new system will be a vast improvement to the old system and we appreciate your patience during the transition.”
The announcement comes a day before registration opens for the SIA Snow Show and On-Snow Demo, October 19.
On the data research front, Sargent said SIA is on the lookout for new retail data solutions and that SIA Director of Research Kelly Davis has been “hard at work compiling other important data reports, all of which will be dropping in the next few weeks,” including the 2016 Industry Intelligence Report, 2016 Snow Sports Participant Study and two new reports: Snow Sports Psychographic Identity Categories and Snow Sports Apparel Trends.
