SnowSports Industries America (SIA) announced today they will be launching a pilot education seminar series entitled “Capitalizing on Today’s Business Environment” in September. Spearheaded by Mary Jo Tarallo, SIA’s director of education, the seminars will offer workshops on sales, marketing and effective small business practices. They will start in Manchester, New Hampshire on September 20 with a repeat line-up in Burlington, Vermont on September 21, 2005. Separate tracks are targeted to suppliers, retailers and reps.

The New England pilot will serve as a model for future SIA education seminars. Focused-regional events, such as the educational seminars, will replace SIA’s involvement in the Snow Industry Summit, a national conference that has taken place for the past two years at Copper Mountain in conjunction with Mountain Sports Media and TransWorld Media.

“We felt that changing the timing of an education program from the spring to the fall would suit our constituents better, and we wanted to give more people the opportunity to hear this valuable information” said David Ingemie, president of SIA. “Several of the topics being presented were very well received at the Summit and offering these presentations at a regional seminar allows us to better hone in on the geographic needs of suppliers, retailers and reps. Each group will take away actionable information that can be used immediately in their respective businesses.”
