Snowsports Industries America (SIA), the non-profit trade association for the winter sports industry, welcomed Ryan Coombs to the organization in the newly created role of research manager.

Coombs’ new position is tied to SIA’s commitment to strengthen and grow its research efforts. To further SIA’s investment in research, the organization will collaborate with Adapt Analytics, on data innovation and graduate students from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah on new research projects.

“SIA is resolute in its commitment to evolve and grow research and data in effort to better support our members. With the additions of Ryan and Adapt, we will be able to provide relevant new data reports that are instrumental in making sound business decisions,” said Nick Sargent, president of SIA.

Coombs comes to SIA with a MBA from the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah and has experience working with nonprofits, previously acting as the senior customer service specialist with Harvard Business School Publishing. He is a Utah native and avid skier and snowboarder. “This is an industry that I’m passionate about, and I also have a very analytical mind and love numbers,” Ryan said. “It’s the perfect fit.”
