Sequential Brands Group Inc. is in negotiations to acquire Galaxy Holdings, which owns the AND1 basketball, Avia athletic and Nevados hiking footwear brands, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
Galaxy has sales of more than $700 million, according to its website. Sequential acquired the Heelys brand in January 2013 and a controlling stake in the DVS skate brand in 2012. It also owns several fashion brands.
The newspaper reported Tuesday that the two companies were nearing a deal that would double the size of Sequential.
