Scarpa will be the exclusive ski boot provider for the Colorado Mountain School (CMS), the largest mountain guide service in Colorado and the largest American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education Avalanche course provider in North America.

Moving forward, all Colorado Mountain School full-time guides and winter seasonal guides working on ski gear will employ SCARPA boots.

“CMS guides work in some of the most inspiring and harshest places on earth. Our job requires the best equipment every day we're in the mountains, and in particular the right boot is critical in our world,” said Mike Alkaitis, general manager of the Colorado Mountain School. “SCARPA has been the leader in ski boots for many decades and we couldn't be more excited to partner with such a well-respected, innovative brand.”

Operating in Colorado since 1877, the Colorado Mountain School has been Rocky Mountain National Park's exclusive technical climbing concessionaire since the Park's creation in 1915. CMS is an American Mountain Guides Association-accredited guide service and employs more AMGA certified guides than any other guide service in the United States.

“Being the largest provider of AIARE avalanche skills courses in the country speaks to Colorado Mountain School's expertise and professionalism in snow safety, and that also makes them a great partner for a brand like SCARPA which has so much history in backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering,” said Kim Miller, CEO of SCARPA North America, which, like CMS, is based in Boulder, CO.

Colorado Mountain School's offerings include one-day and multi-day avalanche, mountaineering and mountain-skills courses. The service also guides rock, alpine, ice and ski mountaineering trips throughout the Colorado Front Range, Utah, Nevada, Alaska and South America.
